I’m very excited to invite you to my new studio for Sunset Park Open Studios 2024 from October 18-20! This is a great opportunity to visit my studio, see my latest work, and explore the broader creative community in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
I make paintings to make solid the memories that slip through my fingers. I am interested in capturing my experiences digitally, processing by hand, then reprocessing over time into a static image on canvas or clay. Lately my experiences deal with carrying life and death inside of me, via pregnancies, miscarriages, surgery, and birthing, parenting, and contributing to my local community.
At my studio, you’ll get to see my latest work and also some of my original sketches and ink drawings, which is generally how I start each artwork.
My studio is located in Industry City, which has lots of food and beverage options to get a snack or a full meal: Thai food, Korean food, pizza, burgers, avocado anything, Japanese food, BBQ, coffee, chocolate, ice cream. There’s also a sandbox, turf area, petanque court, and arcade, so it is great for the whole family.
My daughter will probably not be present (either my husband or a babysitter will be watching her so I can chat with you), but feel free to bring your own little ones.
Here’s a sneak peek at what you’ll see:
